A New Beat for Hillfields: Young People Find Their Sound in the ACE Music Studio

Every Wednesday evening, young people in Hillfields are discovering a new space to be creative, build confidence and develop music skills through the new ACE Music Studio at Hillfields Park Community Centre.
Run by Aspiration Creation Elevation (ACE) alongside Creative Youth Network's weekly youth session, the free Music Studio sessions offer young people aged 12–19 a welcoming space to explore music, build confidence and develop new skills. Whether they're interested in singing, songwriting, recording, producing beats or simply trying something new, the sessions are open to all abilities. The Music Studio itself has been co-designed as a dedicated creative space within the community centre. Equipped for recording, producing and creating music, it provides local young people with opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. Beyond making music, the studio is a place to build confidence, develop friendships and spend time in a safe, positive environment. |
The partnership between ACE and Hillfields Community Garden reflects a shared commitment to creating more opportunities for young people in Hillfields. By combining ACE's specialist music expertise with the community centre's welcoming facilities, the programme is transforming the Music Room into a vibrant community asset that supports creativity, wellbeing and positive futures.
The free weekly sessions run every Wednesday from 7pm–9pm at Hillfields Park Community Centre and are fully wheelchair accessible, making them an open and welcoming opportunity for young people across the community.

As the programme develops, the ambition is for the Music Studio to become a lasting part of Hillfields' creative offer—giving more young people the chance to discover their voice, learn new skills and be inspired through music.
