A huge thank you to the team from Jazz Pharmaceuticals who joined us on 13th May for a corporate volunteering day at Hillfields Community Garden.
Corporate volunteering days make a real difference to our community garden. They help us tackle important projects and jobs that often sit on our "to do" list while our small team focuses on day-to-day activities and supporting local residents. The Jazz Pharmaceuticals team, who booked their volunteering day through Employee Volunteering, achieved an incredible amount in just one day. Their hard work and enthusiasm have left a lasting impact across the garden and community centre. |
Together, the team:
- Built eight swift boxes, which will soon be installed on the community centre to support local wildlife.
- Planted a beautiful wildflower meadow in our new sensory garden, creating a colourful and welcoming space for visitors and pollinators alike.
- Cut tablecloths ready for use at community events and for future hire.
- Painted a new herb planter, which will soon be growing fresh herbs for use in our community kitchen.
- Contacted around 30 local businesses to request raffle prize donations for our upcoming Summer Fair.
- Painted tins for our popular Tin Can Alley stall and started creating materials for Splat the Rat.
- Tackled lots of essential weeding around the garden, helping to keep our growing spaces healthy and welcoming.
Their efforts have helped us prepare for a busy summer while improving facilities that will benefit the whole community.
