Nature in Our Neighbourhood
Hillfields Community Garden are working with Natural England and the University of
Bristol to explore how together we can support nature in Hillfields.

We want to understand what nature means to you, what might stop you from
accessing green spaces, and how we can help to support beautiful, diverse
nature in Hillfields.

Whether it's spring blossom, your favourite tree, or space for the kids to run wild,
nature means something different to all of us.

Being in nature is important for our health and happiness. Time in nature can be
relaxing and being outdoors can be calming. We believe our community deserves
diverse and beautiful green spaces that are accessible to everyone. But nature
needs our support.

1) Capture your 'Green Hillfields'
Show us what nature looks like in Hillfields! Take photos of the nature on your
doorstep (green spaces, plants, flowers, bugs, birds - whatever you like!).
Don’t have a smartphone? No problem. Pick up a disposable camera from Hillfields
Park Community Centre.
Alternatively, pick up one of our postcards from Hillfields Park Community Centre
and fill it with your thoughts, doodles and memories about nature in the area.

2) Send them to us
Send your snaps to us, using the QR code below or emailing them to fssl-
[email protected]
. Drop off your postcards and disposable cameras in our mailbox,
located near the entrance to Hillfields Park Community Centre.

3) Be part of our workshop
Join our community workshop on Wednesday 21 May at Hillfields Library where
University of Bristol researchers will explore new ways of seeing and supporting
nature in Hillfields.

Any questions? Email [email protected] and someone will get back to you.
