Our annual events

We organise three large community events every year, these are our: Wassail in January, Summer Fair in June and a Lantern Parade in November. 

These are helped by our wonderful team of volunteers, who marshal, help bake cakes, support stalls, organise workshops and put up posters. If you would like to help ay any of our future events please visit our volunteering page and get in touch. Volunteer

Summer Event
Saturday 28th June 2025

Our Summer Event is our biggest community gathering of the year! With lots of different activities organised by our volunteers and lots of partner organisations. 

With music and performances too, as well as food on offer there is lots to see and do.

Winter Lantern Parade
The parade in 2025 was lead by City of Bath Brass Band at Hillfields Library and ended in Hillfields Park with hot chocolate, cakes and a final display of everyone's lanterns!

We host a number of lantern making workshops before the parade so that local children, families and adults can make lanterns.

Wassail
Our annual WASSAIL took place on January 19th. This year we sang traditional wassail songs with Sorrel Wilde Community Singing, danced with Pigsty Morris. There was also cakes, hot wassail juice (warmed/spiced apple juice) and hang toast on the apple trees. 

The Wassail King and Queen lead the ceremony to bless our apple trees to bring a good harvest and to ward away any bad spirits lurking in the branches!

This ancient tradition has been taking place in orchards for hundreds of years! Everyone is welcome! To join next years volunteer group please join here.
